The Governor of the Rostov Region and the Head of Rosseti South discussed the prospects for the development of the region's power grid complex

Rostov Region Governor Yuri Slyusar and Rosseti South CEO Alexey Rybin met in Rostov-on-Don to discuss the development of the regional power grid, the implementation of measures under the reliability improvement program, and preparedness for the winter peak season.

During the meeting, Alexey Rybin introduced Nikita Kalashnikov, the new head of Rosseti South's Rostovenergo branch, to the head of the region and thanked the head of the Don region for his attention to the development of the Don energy complex.

"We haven't received such attention in a long time. Thanks to your participation, a program to improve the reliability of the Rostov Region's electric grid complex was signed, with funding totaling 21 billion rubles. Of this, 3.1 billion rubles are already confirmed sources for the next three years—from 2026 to 2028. We also signed a regulatory agreement between the Rostov Region and the company, which will allow us to utilize these more than 20 billion rubles for the development of the region's grid complex by 2031," said Alexey Rybin.

The head of Rosseti South also noted cooperation with the Don government in obtaining a federal subsidy of 489 million rubles to compensate for the purchase of specialized equipment for the power grid. Due to this, the tariff burden on customers in the region was reduced by almost half a billion.

"This technology is essential because it improves companies' equipment, speeds up emergency response, and, consequently, ensures residents have a reliable power supply," Yuri Slyusar said in support of the federal center's decision.

The meeting also discussed the issue of power supply to gardening associations, where the infrastructure cannot cope with modern loads due to year-round occupancy. At Rosseti South, which has the status of a system-forming territorial network organization, production programs are being developed to bring the networks of suburban and gardening communities up to standard.
