In 2022, Rosseti South took under its control 160.3 km of power transmission lines and 55 transformer substations with a total capacity of 157 MVA.
Most of the facilities had been in an extremely unsatisfactory condition: worn out equipment and dilapidated networks had not been maintained, causing power failures to customers, including consumers of other grid companies.
Last year, the largest amount of work to consolidate power lines was carried out in Rostov Oblast, where more than 50 km of power transmission lines were added to the company. Power transmission lines with a total length of 63 km were consolidated in Astrakhan Oblast, 28.5 km were consolidated in Volgograd Oblast, and 18 km were consolidated in Kalmykia. The share of ownerless power transmission lines in the total amount of transmission lines added to the company was almost 60%.
Over the year, the electric grid facilities of Rosseti South were expanded by consolidating 33 transformer substations in the Astrakhan region and five transformer substations in Kalmykia. Eight facilities were consolidated in Rostov Oblast, and nine facilities were consolidated in Volgograd Oblast.
In addition, during the year, the company declared in a judicial proceeding the right of ownership of 686 ownerless facilities which had been previously added to the company.
Consolidation of grid assets contributes to the creation of a unified energy system in the regions where Rosseti South carries out its activities, and an increase in the reliable power supply to customers. Centralization of power facility management allows us to solve problems quickly in case of emergency situations, and to plan and carry out comprehensive work. In addition, power engineers have the opportunity to take loss-reduction measures.
